The best way to complete every heist in Grand Theft Auto 5
One of the most exciting things about GTA 5 is how many heists players can complete to score good money. Here’s a rundown of all of them.
GTA 5 is one of the most popular games in the series and one of the best-selling video games of all time. The game has multiple unique things that players enjoy. These range from the various character modifications to the secret underwater UFO in the game. However, players arguably enjoy the many heists in the game the most.
First introduced early in the story mode, players get their first taste of the heist system in Grand Theft Auto 5 when they rob the jewelry store as Franklin and Michael. After that, however, players must complete multiple other heists as the game proceeds, though some are harder than others.
Each heist in GTA 5 is unique and players need to plan them to make sure they make the most money while minimizing the risk they take. To do this they need to pick the correct method to perform the heist and select the right crew members. Here’s a guide for every GTA 5 single-player heist.
Every heist in GTA 5 explained
There are a total of five heists in GTA 5’s single-player story mode. This guide will walk players through each heist and give them tips. This way players will be able to make the most of each height with the least amount of risk.
It’s important to select the right crew for each heist. Every member possesses a different skill set such as driving, hacking, and shooting. It’s important to choose the most skilled members according to the heist but how much of a cut the member will take is also important to keep in mind.
Heist 1: The Jewel Store Job
The Jewel Store Job is the first heist and players should choose option B (Smart). In this heist, you need to pick a hacker and Rickie Lukens is the best choice. While other hackers may give players more time, Rickie’s time is optimal for the heist.
It’s best to choose Packie McReary as the gunman but he needs to be unlocked by completing his optional encounter. The encounter is random and he needs help in getting away after he robs a store. Once the player successfully helps him, he can be hired for heists. Packie is as good as Gustavo Mota but costs 2% to hire him.
Select Karim Denz as the driver. While it’ll be harder to get away he’ll take less of a cut. Once the heist is successful the total take should be just a little less than $5 million. Michael will get $1.2 million and Franklin will get just a little less than $300,000.
Heist 2: The Merryweather Heist
The second heist in GTA 5, The Merryweather Heist, is the only one in which the player won’t make any money so the choices don’t really affect the profit of the heist. All three protagonists participate in the heist and there are only two possible paths that players can take in the heist.
The first way is the offshore route. With this method, players need to find and steal a submarine. Then they need to reach a drop-off point and use the Trackify application on their phone to recover the item. A helicopter will be needed to take the item back to shore and enemies will attack you during this phase.
The second method is to use the freighter route. With this method, players will find the item within a ship’s wreckage. The only two differences between the methods are where the item is located, everything else stays the same.
Heist 3: The Paleto Score
In the third heist in GTA, The Paleto Score, it’s imperative that all the members avoid getting shot. Each time a crew member is shot, money will be deducted. The player begins that heist with a maximum possible score of $8,016,020.
Choose Packie McReary as your gunman if you used him in the first heist as that would have increased his stats. If you didn’t choose Packie in the first heist then choose Chef in this heist. Both of those gunmen will cost less than Gustave Mota.
Choosing Norm Richards and Daryl Johns isn’t good as they’ll need to be left behind. While that can be good for increasing your take, Norm is useful in the final heist. If you are successful in the heist the total take should be a little over $8 million with Michael, Franklin, and Trevor each getting between $425,000 and $464,000.
Heist 4: The Bureau Raid
It’s best to choose option B (Roof Entry) in the fourth GTA 5 heist, The Bureau Raid. A hacker is needed for the heist and Rickie Lukens should be chosen along with Norm Richards as a gunman.
Taliana Martinez should be your driver but she needs to be unlocked using her options; encounter. She will randomly be found along the freeway in the northeast and the player can drive her to Sandy Shores. If she is saved, she can hired for heists. She is one of the best drivers and charges less than Eddie Toh.
On this heist, Taliana will be ready with an ambulance, and getting away from the police will be very easy. If Karim Denz was used in the first heist then he’ll also appear with an ambulance if he is chosen for the heist. In this heist Michael received nothing but Franklin gets $240,000 – 242,000.
Heist 5: The Big Score
The Big Score is the final heist of GTA 5 and players can get a score of over $41 million. To get the maximum take choose option B and choose Taliana Matinez as your first driver and Karim Denz as the second driver.
Taliana will fly the helicopter and only charge 5%, while Karim will drive the train. Gunmen aren’t necessary for the height so take the two that charge the least. Once the heist is successful Franklin, Michael, and Trevor all will get $41 million each.
Those who like the heists in Grand Theft Auto 5’s single-player mode can always check out GTA Online. Not only does GTA Online have a larger list of hests, with Rockstar Games adding more with subsequent updates, but players can also complete the heists with their friends. This makes for some very enjoyable sessions which the base game can’t compete with.
