With Grand Theft Auto 6 all set to release in 2025, there are many rumours and speculations surrounding the game’s release. The greatly anticipated game trailer already gained more than 80 million views in a single day. As said by the makers, “Grand Theft Auto 6 will push the limits of what’s possible in a highly immersive, story-driven open-world experience”. But will this be the case for Windows PC? According to a news released by publisher Take-Two Interactive, GTA 6 won’t be released on Windows PCs. But what is the real story? Let’s dive deeper into the realities of the launch.

Recently, the Grand Theft Auto Developer,  Rockstar, came out with a press release along with the trailer for 6 installment of GTA. As put forward by Rockstar, the game would be released on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. The GTA 6 trailer was released earlier than anticipated due to a great number of leaks. But what made people scratch their heads was that there were no reports of the release on PC.

This news came as no surprise because the same happened when Grand Theft Auto 5 was launched. Rockstar Games has a history of its PC versions launching a bit later. Back in September 2013, GTA 5 was also first released on PS3 and Xbox 360 and then on PC 19 months later in April 2015.

If Rockstar Games follows the legacy of withholding the PC release then it means we’ll need to wait for months to enjoy this beauty on PC. Many have put forward the concerns that the PC release for GTA 6  may even take as long as September or October 2027.

As far as the question as to why it is taking so long for Grand Theft Auto 6 to be launched, the developers know the answer better. But for us to put forward a speculation, the answer to this detail may be the extrinsic details which lie in the game.
