Things from Vice City we want to see in Grand Theft Auto 6
Grand Theft Auto 6 is on the horizon and here is everything from Vice City we want to see make a return in the upcoming game.
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was arguably one of the best titles in the series when it comes to the open world and unique betrayal story. The protagonist of Vice City is one of the most beloved in the series. Tommy Vercetti’s journey from a low-status gang to running the whole city was one of the best stories in a game at the time.
Many things in the game set it apart from others and made it a huge success. While Rockstar Games has kept the basic formula of the games the same, many things from Vice City are missing in future games. These are things that fans have hoped they’d see in upcoming GTA games.
When Rockstar Games officially confirmed that GTA: 6 is set within Vice City, fans were overjoyed at the change to revisit the Miami-themed city once again. The revival of the classic location also gave hope to fans that they might see some of the lost things from Vice City in GTA: 6. If you ask a fan of GTA what their favorite thing about the game Vice City is, they’ll probably motion countless things. However, it would be impossible to request Rockstar to bring back Vice City completely for GTA: 6. So here are the 6 things from Vice City that we want to see in GTA: 6.
Diaz’s Mansion
One of the most prized possessions of players in Vice City was Diaz’s Mansion. The huge house and its compound started off as a place where Tommy would get missions. However, as the story progressed and Diaz met his ultimate demise, the estate was taken over by the game’s main character.
After that, the name of the mansion was changed to Vercetti Estate. However, most fans still fondly remember it by its former name and it’s no surprise as Diaz was a character that left a lasting impression on fans.
The respawning infernus that was parked next to the stairs in the compound and the maze that players traveled through to attempt to sneak up on Diaz. Everything made the house one of the most unique locations in Vice City.
If Diaz’s Mansion appears in GTA: 6, it will likely have a more modern look and a different feel. However, once fans go inside, all the old memories will resurface and they will remember the original.
Weapons
One thing that fans can’t get enough of in the GTA games is weapons. Certain weapons appeared in Vice City and then were never seen in the franchise again. Fans would love to see the chainsaw and the katana once again in GTA: 6.
While these seem like small things that shouldn’t affect things too much, fans enjoyed these small things in Vice City. So if they see it again GTA: 6 then they’ll enjoy the game much more while reminiscing about the classic game they played in their childhood.
Furthermore, video games have come a lot further since Vice City was made so it’s likely if the old weapons make a comeback they will be more modern. For instance, the katana might behead the target and the chainsaw might be more gory.
Businesses
One of the most interesting and easiest ways of making money in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was by purchasing businesses. Once Tommy invested in the various businesses around town and set them up, he was minting money on a daily basis.
The businesses added more realism to the game and it’s likely GTA: 6 can improve on the idea even more. New businesses can be added and different methods of interacting with them are also something that fans will enjoy.
Some fan-favorite businesses in Vice City included the Ice Cream Factory and the Taxi Company. The best thing was that many businesses were already associated with side missions players could participate in to make some quick cash, and leading the company felt like an insane power move.
The Malibu Club
The Malibu Club was one of the most prestigious spots in Vice City. The club is also part of many missions in the game and also a place where Tommy can kick back and relax. Fans will likely remember the neon-lit dancing floor where Tommy lit the stage with groovy moves.
If the club does make a comeback in GTA: 6, it would be better if the ambiance is kept similar to the original. Although its likely that things will become different and change according got he times. The original strip club was inspired by the Babylon Club from the classic movie Scarface. So Rockstar likely won’t change too much of it in GTA: 6.
The Ocean View Hotel
The first safehouse and the location where Tommy recovers after his missions in Vice City. The Ocean View Hotel is situated on Ocean Drive and it’s the prime example of the game’s retro theme.
One shortcoming of the hotel like other safehouses in Vice City was that players couldn’t explore the interior. If the hotel is showcased in GTA: 6, players would love to be able to walk through the spacious inner surroundings of the famous hotel.
Tommy Vercetti
The trailer of GTA: 6 has given fans a glimpse of the two protagonists who will be featured in the game. However, because Rockstar has decided to return to Vice City, the place will be incomplete without the mafia don, Tommy Vercetti. He was the live of the game and even though the villain Diaz gave him a tough competition, the main character was the best thing about Vice City.
It would be an amazing thing if Tommy is featured in GTA: 6. While it’s obvious he won’t be a main character, fans would still enjoy a cameo by the legend. In addition, if he becomes playable even for a short duration, it would make the game significantly more popular among the die-hard fans of the franchise.
Port Vice City
The thing that primarily sets Vice City apart from the other locations featured in different Grand Theft Auto games is how the city consists of three large islands. Thanks to this, players spend a lot of time looking at the water in the game, even if Tommy couldn’t swim. Who could forget using cheats to drive on the water, making for one of the best freeways in any Grand Theft Auto game?
Another large thing we want to see return in Grand Theft Auto 6 is the large port in the game. Port Vice City played a crucial role in multiple iconic missions in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, especially since it was fairly close to Lance’s house. With so many boats to see and even more enemies to take down, Rockstar Games has the potential to take the port to even greater heights thanks to modern software.
Of course, players will likely be able to swim in Grand Theft Auto 6. Thanks to this little quality-of-life feature, players will seek out faster ways to traverse the waters, and the port will be perfect for that. How about another submarine-related heist for all our Grand Theft Auto 5 fans?
